The Young Sprouts Weekly Nature Program offers young children meaningful outdoor experiences throughout the school year in the forests and natural spaces of Capilano River Regional Park. Designed for children ages 4-6, the program supports confidence, independence, emotional awareness, and connection to the natural world through consistent weekly immersion in nature.

Through play-based, experiential learning, children build familiarity with the land, develop comfort outdoors in all seasons, and form meaningful relationships with peers, mentors, and place. Weekly adventures encourage curiosity, creativity, resilience, and joyful exploration while creating a strong foundation for lifelong outdoor learning.

With a small group size of 12 children and a high adult-to-child ratio of 1:6, participants receive individualized support, nurturing mentorship, and high-quality interactions throughout the day.

Testimonials

What Families are Saying

“My son asks me nearly every day, “Is today forest school?”; he always comes back full of energy, bright-eyed and happy, whether it was raining or shining. I have also seen him apply some of the observation skills on our own nature walks. I would recommend Soaring Eagle to each and every parent I come in contact with! Thank you:)” – Alison, Young Sprouts Program Parent

“Everyday, our kids come home dirty, tired and happy. This morning, we stopped along the trail and my son said, ‘Mommy, this is a Vine Maple..and that’s a Red Alder’. He is 5 years old! It’s a great camp!” – Kira, Young Sprouts Summer Camp Parent

“My son absolutely loves outdoor school. He wishes he could go there every day. The staff are knowledgeable, fun, and care about creating a safe environment for kids to learn and grow.” – Jill, Monthly Program Parent
