Into the Wild Summer Camp

Into the Wild is a 5-day immersive nature camp designed for teens ready to step outside, challenge themselves, and experience a deeper connection to the natural world. Open to both new and returning participants, this program offers an accessible entry point into nature-based learning while still providing meaningful challenge and growth.

Set in local forests, parks, and coastal spaces, each day invites youth to explore, build skills, and develop confidence through hands-on experiences. Participants learn foundational bushcraft and survival skills, wildlife tracking, plant identification, and navigation, all through curiosity-led exploration and real-world application.

More than just skills, this program is about stepping into independence, building resilience, and forming genuine connections with nature, with others, and with themselves.

Program Highlights:

Accessible for all experience levels

  • Welcoming to both beginners and returning learners
  • Skills are introduced progressively, with opportunities to deepen learning

Hands-on outdoor skills

  • Learn bushcraft, survival skills, and nature awareness
  • Explore tracking, plant knowledge, and navigation in real environments

Challenge & personal growth

  • Step outside comfort zones through games, group challenges, and outdoor scenarios
  • Build confidence, resilience, and problem-solving skills

Curiosity-led exploration

  • Learning unfolds naturally through exploration, play, and discovery
  • Encourages independence and self-directed engagement

Connection & community

  • Small groups foster meaningful friendships and teamwork
  • Emphasis on respect, communication, and shared experience

Mentorship & guidance

  • Experienced instructors support youth in developing skills, awareness, and confidence

What Teens Gain:

  • A stronger sense of independence and capability
  • Practical outdoor skills they can continue to build on
  • A deeper connection to nature and place
  • Confidence in themselves and their ability to navigate challenges

*If your child just turned 12 and is new to nature or outdoor programs, the 6–12 group (which is age-banded, e.g. 10–12) is often a more comfortable fit.

If they’re ready for more independence, challenge, and a teen social environment, the 12–16 program may be a great match. Feel free to reach out to [email protected] if you’d like guidance.
